Riverside Park

Riverside was formally established as a park in 1902 on grounds that were formerly part of the much older Riverside Cemetery. A trolley that terminated at 27th Street immediately served the park and cemetery. In the 1910s, the park was the site for the Moline Tourist Camp for early automobile travelers, a predecessor to motels that sprung up later along newly paved interregional highways. The Moline Municipal Swimming Pool was opened at Riverside Park in the 1935.
