Stillman Wheelock, brother to Moline's first mayor, Daniel Wheelock, served for many years as the president of the Moline Plow Company, John Deere's neighbor and the second largest steel plow manufacturer in the world.
Stillman Wheelock would also serve several terms as Mayor, besides running the Moline Paper Manufactory and other manufacturing concerns in Moline.
This home stood on the current site of the Scottish Rite Cathedral.
