John Deere House
3rd Avenue and 18th Street

John Deere moved from Grand Detour, Illinois to Moline in 1848. He built this house within the next few years, and spent the next thirty years here. It appears that several additions were made to the rear of the house. It was finally demolished in the early 1900s to make way for the Moline Post Office. Today the Post Office still stands, but as offices.
