Overlook

The residential icons of this bluff-top neighborhood are several large mansions built by 19th century industrialists. Some of the biggest names in Moline history are attached to these palaces, most of which have splendid views of downtown and the Mississippi River. The neighborhood also has more modest homes that were occupied by early immigrants whose labor created the wealth that build the mansions. These include some large dwellings that were used as boarding houses for male immigrants who had not yet been joined by—or found—a spouse. Overlook has an active neighborhood association.
