Riverfront
Until the late 20th century, the Moline riverfront had always been the lifeline of the city. Attracting early manufacturers, the riverfront was at one time home to the two largest plowmakers in the world, furnitue makers, organ makers, quilt makers, wagon makers and automobile manufacturers.
On the left side of the image you can see the "Great Moline Wall", built by the Moline Water Power Company to harness the waters of the Mississippi River to provide waterpower to Moline's riverfront factories.
