Karstens Park
This residential area west of 7th Street, in what was often in the past called the “West Bluff,” was developed in the early 20th century, mainly the 1920s. For the first fifteen years of the century, it was home to a brickyard operated by August Karstens, who subsequently donated a block to the city for a park. A 20th century trolley along 7th Street, with a southern terminus at 27th Avenue, served the area.
