Hospital Hill

Through virtually the entire 20th century, hospitals occupied crest of the bluff between 5th and 7th Street. Moline Public Hospital was first established in 1896 in a mansion and then expanded several times with the construction of additional buildings. Public eventually merged with Moline Lutheran Hospital, which was next door for most of the century. Today they are part of Trinity Medical Center, which has one “campus” at the other end of 7th Street near Black Hawk Road. Hospital Hill has recently been developed as a residential area. Today this area is part of a subdivision development.
