Mutual Wheel Co. was established in April 1891 at 709 3rd Avenue, just east of the D.M. Sechler Carriage Co., for the production of buggy, cart and carriage wheels. Daniel Sechler, founder of the D.M. Sechler Carraige Co., served as its first president until his death in 1903. To the Mutual Wheel Company still operates in Moline, Milan, Peoria and other places.
