Moline National Bank/First Midwest Bank
506 15th Street
Built in 1912, this six story steel structure building faced with brick gives the effect of massive columns, which are interspaced with decorative modallions. The bank was organized under a charter written in 1863, with John Deere elected its first president (it was then located at Thrid Avenue and Fifteenth Street). Deere executives and family members were directly involved in the ownership and/or management of the bank until the 1980s.
