Fifth Avenue Building
1630 5th Avenue
The completion of this Art Deco office building in 1930 represents the culmination of the building of the new downtown on 5th Avenue. By that time all the classic downtown elements were in place, including department stores, many other retail stores, office buildings, and various public facilities. The brick facade of this L-shaped building has raised vertical columns that are capped at the roof with geometric motifs. It was recently restored.
