MOLINE, IL (April 4, 2006)—MPS Sends Letters to Representative Mike Boland and Congressman Lane Evans
MPS recently sent a letter to State Representative Mike Boland thanking him for joining the recently formed Illinois Historic Preservation Caucus, whose mission is “To promote, preserve and protect Illinois historic structures and sites. To help educate and motivate the general public to the importance of maintaining the heritage of our state.”

With over 80 members from both the House and Senate – almost half of the Legislature - the Illinois Historic Preservation Caucus is the largest issue-based, bi-partisan caucus in Springfield. It also is the second historic preservation caucus to be formed at the state legislative level in the country. Learn more about the Illinois Historic Preservation Caucus.

In addition, MPS sent a letter to Congressman Lane Evans urging his support of H.R. 3159, the Community Restoration and Revitalization Act. The act contains important amendments to the existing Federal Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credit Program. These amendments deepen the program’s utility for community revitalization and affordable housing, helping historic properties throughout the state. Learn more about the H.R. 3159.
